London Calling is one of those songs that really captured and spewed out the angst of 1980, much like The Specials’ Ghost Town did for the English riots.
From the very first few riffs, you just knew it was going to be a great one. And it was!
London has changed completely since then, with huge amounts of gentrification along the River Thames – back in 1980 much of the South Bank was derelict wasteland… happy days!
A classic of all time. They don’t make ’em like that anymore, and they never will either!
